Student project: A Slow Travel Map for Constance
In the seminar “Sustainable Travel” that I held at the University of Constance, the students learnt about the green travel concepts “Slow Travel” and “Micro Adventures”. The main project was the joint development of a Slow Travel map for the city of Constance.

Internship in the Caribbean – Far away from white dreamy beaches
In 2007, Sonja completed a five-month internship abroad in the Caribbean. Travelling at that time was still a bit of an adventure: hardly anyone had a smartphone and the internet was not yet as full of travel reports and information as it is today.

With cruise ships, travellers move from one port to the next at a slower pace. In addition to restaurants and entertainment, the ships also offer many fellow travellers to get to know, i.e. great added value. The route becomes the destination. Sounds like Slow Travel? But it’s not!

On the German book market, there are hardly any books that deal with the topic of Slow Travel. I was all the more curious when I discovered the newly published travel guide by author Elke Weiler in the spring of 2023. A review.
